The kids are growing up and are getting out of the house and into matrimony though some manage to dodge the bullet.  Brian and Chris get hitched as well as Dick and Marie as well as others- but not to each other of course, you know...

Daniel and Hannah's siblings figure 25 years of hosting the Annual Christmas Party are enough and they want to boogie now.  Their kids (AKA the cousins), they reason, are certainly capable of it so they give them the task and the cousins promptly invent another party- this time to plan the party!  Rock on.
